Camera Work Techniques

Pan: This one was pretty simple and this only took a few tries. I just moved the camera from left to right.

Tilt: This was simple as well; I just kept the phone in the same place and tilted it up to show the full building and background.

Handheld: I'm not sure if this looks like it is handheld because it doesn't seem raw or bumpy enough. I took many takes in different places but when i tried to unnaturally move the camera or stomp to make it look shaky, the camera started focusing in and out and it wouldn't give me a good shot. This is the best I could do, and filming people walking while moving adds to the realistic effect.

Boom Shot: I am very happy with how this turned out. I used the 0.5 zoom on the camera to stretch the setting and make the tree look longer. Overall I think the shot went pretty smooth.

Zoom: I like this one a lot. I tried to keep the camera in the same place while zooming so the lightbulb would stay in the same spot while getting larger in the shot.

Dolly Zoom: This one was tricky. I wasn't sure what subject to do but decided a non-moving object would probably be best. Even though this object moves, it wasn't any harder than normal to capture the shot, I even think it adds to the trippy effect. This was kinda hard to film though but it just took practice for it to come out looking right.

Tracking: I just filmed this while walking horizontally and keeping the camera still. I was going to change the direction of the camera to make it look like it was on a track, but that ended up looking like a whip pan, so I cut it out.

Dolly: I like this one as well. I think it looks like a POV shot because it is moving like a person would. I made the turns a bit twisty to show that the camera is freely moving.
